I am about to install a new Toto Ultimate in my half bath. When I bought the toilet, I also bought a Fluidmaster waxless seal. When I read the instructions (I actually do read instructions on occasion...) it specifically mentioned installing a wax ring on the toilet. Can I assume that this was just because the tech writer didn't happen to think of the waxless seal, or is there an actual reason to prefer the wax ring on the Toto Ultimate?

You can use either...no problem. The vast majority of installations are done with the wax seals, as they're cheaper. That is why, I think, they show that.

If you use the Fluidmaster waxless seal, jut push it on the bottom of the bowl. I like to know that the Fluidmaster is on there good.
I don't follow the instructions that come with the waxless.
