Should I reset a new toilet?

I recently installed a new toiilet and followed the instructions included with it, using the provided wax ring. After reading this and other forums I realize that I should have used a thicker ring since flange top was flush (or even slightly below) the tile. There doesn't seem to be any leaks (or smells) and I haven't caulked it yet so I think I would notice. Should I pull and reset the toilet with a more appropriate ring or should I keep it as it is since there seems to be no leak?

Did you feel it squish the wax as you set it?

I'd keep it uncaulked for a while just to make sure that there are no leaks. If it doesn't leak and there is no sewer smell, then you did it right! Good job!
