Hi all,
I'm trying to install a Toto Aquia I toilet I recently bought used, and I recently realized that the mounting blocks that are included with skirted Toto units were missing. I managed to source the part, but I've run into some problems installing the unit.
Basically, the screw holes in the base of the toilet (depicted in first picture below) aren't lining up with the mounting blocks when I push the toilet to the wall. I've attempted to depict this in the second picture below; the blue dot is where the screw holes are when the toilet is put into place, and the space between the red lines is where the screw needs to contact the mounting block. There's just under a 1" difference.
The only thing I can think of is that the rough-in unit is designed for a 10" installation (whereas mine requires 12"). I thought I double checked this when I bought the toilet, but it's possible the seller gave me incorrect info.
Any other ideas as to what the problem I'm facing here is? I'm honestly pretty stumped - I positioned the mounting blocks exactly where the installation instructions specified (measured something like 3 times, haha). Any ideas/suggestions for MacGyvering this - if it comes to that - are greatly appreciated!
