Is it good practice to apply pipe joint compound (pipe dope) in toilet tank, between porcelain, rubber washer, and bolt head?

Pipe dope is needed on iron pipe threaded connections to fill in the spaces between the threads so it will seal. The fittings inside of a toilet are sealed with gaskets, and some pipe dope has oil in it, and can degrade some rubber seals, and serves no plumbing purpose there.
