I am looking to install a new bathtub. The space I currently have for the length is just over 68 inches. I was curious if its possible to purchase a 72 inch tub and trim the rear deck roughly 4 inches to fit the space? I am not sure if this is recommended or anyone on here has ever done it successfully?? The tub I have now is I believe a 60 inch but the previous owner built a ledge out of tile to cover up the gaps. I am really trying to use this space completely so the 60 inch tub has to go. Thanks to all.

I have a 66" tub. Companies that make them tend to do so in 6" increments above the 60" length.

Trimming a typical tub would be risky.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
