In general, IMHO, a drainage path that tries to make a sharp 90 turn on the outlet is just asking for problems. Much better to have a curved path that starts to point the waste down at the drain rather than trying to turn immediately, right there. I'm not commenting on how the toilet looks, only on the dynamics of the design.
