Hello there I just purchased an RO water filtration system for my kitchen sink.

I think I have the whole thing figured out but I'm having trouble trying to connect a drain line because I live in an apartment and I would prefer to not drill a hole in the main drain pipe.

Here's a photo: https://imgur.com/a/W3eGf2N
What do you guys suggest I do? I was thinking of either getting one of those adapters and put it between the sink and main drain pipe or getting pvc pipes and drill a hole in the pvc, but then I have no experience or knowledge in plumbing lol. Any suggestions or insights are appreciated.

You want a "branch tailpiece" with an air gap feeding into the branch.

Your R.O. unit should have come with a 1 1/2" drain pipe saddle that fits around the drop pipe and you drill the hole. When you move just stick a "stopper" plug in it.
