Hello all.
I'm working in a bathroom here that has a corner toilet. They want to replace the toilet along with tiling the walls.
Looking at the specs for corner toilets every one I see gives dimensions from the FINISHED wall to the center of the closet flange.
The rough is usually measured from the framing is it not?
Is the rough on corner toilets measured differently than a regular floor mount model.
It is measuring 12" from the framing now. (both ways)
I' m wondering if I need to move the flange.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks.

It makes sense. If your wall thickness will be more than 1/2 inch, the answer is probably yes.

The 12 inch measure would be from each wall, which would be about 17 inches from the corner.

They want to tile the walls too.
About 3/8" tile.

So you are talking at least 7/8 inch counting the drywall.

If you don't move the flange, you may need to use a 10 inch rough toilet if you can find one.

The toilets discussed may no longer be available. Moving the closet flange while things are open will probably be a good idea.

It's 12" from the "finished" wall measuring from the corner on both sides.
The rough-in is never measured from the rough framing.

Normally the tank isn't touching the wall and has a little bit of clearance.
