If the size is right on a smooth brass pipe. What is the accurately measured OD of your brass pipe?

I am using logic; I don't speak from authority.

Yellow brass had the same OD as any schedule 40, 80 or 120 pipe

Yellow brass is 60% copper and 40% zinc as opposed to Red brass 85% copper 15% zinc the wall thickness is the same for schedule 40 pipe (IPS)

Also TP copper has the same outside wall size as IPS

If the pipe's OD is the same as the equivalent copper pipe, it should work. IF not, it either won't fit in, or the O-ring won't be able to seal. YOu may need to remove the internal stiffener there for when using pex.
