All,
I've been reading off this forum for a while and trust the great knowledge within ... I've been doing my research and am looking to invest in Water Treatment for my home. The main issue relates to Cholrine/Chloramine smell and taste during some parts of the year as well as itching in the shower and on clothes/sheets. Making sure to keep pressure is also important to me.
Additional note, The home is 3 Bath(only 2 ever get used) with Two adults and 2 Small kids. The Master shower is due for an upgrade to allow ~5 GPM while showering. I suspect average to be much less but maximum of 5-10 GPM at any given time. Inlet Pressure is 58 PSI. The home has 1" PEX main line running into the home.
See the linked municipality Water Report for my home:

So ... my current plan is to go with the following:
1) Catalytic Carbon Filter with Vortech - 12"x52" - Fleck 2510SXT Control Valve - ~$981
http://www.purewaterproducts.com/products/bw141
2) 40K Grain Softener with Fleck 5600SXT Contol Valve - ~$751
http://www.purewaterproducts.com/products/bw403
3) I've CONSIDERED a Big Blue 4.5x20 Pentek Pre-Filter but honestly think it is a bit overkill.
Am I going in the right direction? Thoughts? I prefer to slightly oversize the Carbon filter but can only afford the 2 Cu Ft at this time. The place I linked is local and will provide a 5% discount for me picking it up. Are there better/cheaper sources? I'd like any feedback from people here. Thanks in advance!
