This is my very first post.

I got a Toto Drake w/ Transitional Tank yesterday. When I took the tank out of the box, I noticed a large half-moon shaped chip (see pictures). I thought that it was defective and was ready to take it back. Then, I decided to call Toto before heading over to Home Depot. To my surprise, Toto tech support told me that it's normal to have it, which he called a "casting mark".

Is this indeed normal? I have dealt with a fair number of toilet tanks during 50+ years of my life, but I do not recall seeing anything like it before.

Thank you in advance for your expert opinion.
