Master Plumber Mark, AKA Mark Weilhammer of Indiana came out to the Northwest with his daughter Amy to see some of what we love about our area. A little know hike that I've been doing since I was a child. I figured that a vertical hike up a mountain to 5,500 feet was a good thing to show someone from Indiana where the highest to the lowest elevation in the entire state is about 1,250 feet.
In the background is Mt Baker at 10,781 feet, as viewed from 5,500 feet.
Amy taking a break at the top. In the distance is Puget Sound far, far out there.
Amy, Pam and Mark
Flowers on the way up.
A marmot that was hanging around the top with us.
The far river is the Sauk, which is converging with the Skagit river near us.
Looking North we see deep into the North Cascades.
More flowers than I've ever remembered.
