New to forum, in desperate need of assistance with options for repairing tub/shower 3 handle valve. Believe it is the original, it believe it may be Gerber or Central brass(??). Did new recipe & rebuilt the original cartridges but still have a very mi or dripping into refinished tub which is starting to affect the new glazing near the drain. Believe the seats may be the cause of leak. Am told if I try to take the seat out it may break & will have to replace the valve on the wall. There is small access panel. BUT I am told that cannot replace the valve without demolishing the shower tile )mud wall on plaster!!) because there is no way to reconnect the galvanized line to the new valve once it is cut. Is there a connection that can be used so that we can still use the galvanized pipe that supplies water for the shower?? What are realistic options. Really cannot redo bath at this tim Would be grateful for info & advice. Thanks MUCH in advance!!

If the wall behind the tub is open, why the wall cannot be opened up to the shower head? BYW.. it looks like the exact three handle and spout that was in the home I grew up on Long Island NY. The house was built in 1953 and was still working in 2017 when it was sold.
