My garage is under the bathroom where the need drain is being installed so I have access. It looks like the pipe needs to go into the sweep about 1.5" for the glue fitting. That means I need to be able to move the pipe an extra 1.5" to insert the sweep. The problem is there isn't enough room to move the pipe.

What is the minimum penetration to have a good joint?
Are there any tricks or adapters to make room?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,
When inserting a fitting into a line that is already in place, I use shielded couplings like these which allow me to insert the fitting in-line and then tighten up.

Thanks Terry!

That's just what I was looking for.
