Pictures attached.
The diverter on our 1980s Roman tub faucet is broken, leaving half the water coming out of the faucet and half coming through the shower head. No idea what brand faucet it is. When we pried off the access panel yesterday, we discovered that the entire assembly was Jerry-rigged by soldering the shower line into the faucet line.
Trying to replace it, we now have found that such an assembly does not exist. I was thinking we could get a trim kit/rough in for a Roman tub with diverter to a hand shower and manipulate that to suit our needs. But all I have seen are very pricey options $400-500+.
1. Do you think we can make that type of assembly work for our situation, and if so, what complications do you foresee?
2. Recommendations for places to buy this that won’t force us to eat PB&J for the next month.
(Tried to replace the diverter cartridge initially. We sent pictures to Delta, thinking it was a Delta faucet because of the Delta handles. Delta let us know that they never made this type of faucet, and someone must have used their replacement handles. )
