Hoping someone can advise me as to how to clear my shower drain. The previous owners used to put a cats litter tray in the downstairs shower cubicle - it is completely blocked with cat litter and is starting to cause a funky smell.
It is blocked right to the top, and I have no clue as to where to start to clear it. Would a standard industrial drain cleaner dissolve it? Is there anything specific that dissolves cat litter? Help please

I would start by removing what you can with a wet-dry vacuum cleaner. Then scratch in with a screwdriver, and suck up some more. Do what you can mechanically.

Drain cleaner is not going to be helpful.

Use a WET dry Vacuum and a 3/8" snake (cable) and to vacuum up what your breaking up

After you remove as much as you can let the shower run on slow and continue snaking

You will have to work the cable in and out a lot of times and eventually you will get full flow

Very common problem good thing it is in the shower (2" waste) then a bathtub
