There seems to be alot of discussion on whether or not the closet flange should be flush with the floor or above the floor. In my experience it is best to have it about 1/4" above the floor. But outside of that, does anyone know of a web site that lists the dimensions for various toilets from the very bottom of the outer edge of a toilets to the extrusion that the wax ring sits on?

Toilet flanges are designed to be installed on TOP of the finished floor and anchored through it into the subflooring. Any new toilet and a flange that meets spec should allow the toilet to sit properly and seal without interference.
