New member here and new property owner about to install my water system. I came upon this forum from a google search and seemed to have found a wealth of knowledge so I thought I would post up my questions. Any response is much appreciated.
I have attached an image of the site plan. The blue lines are the water lines. The well is at the end of the water line at the NE corner of the image. The proposed storage tank location is at the SW corner.
So as of right now I have a well drilled (200' deep 10 gpm). I have purchased a 3/4hp pump (Grundfos 10S07-12 3 wire) for the well. I want to put in a 1700 gal storage tank so that I don't have to ever worry about running out of water during periods of high demand. I could install the tank 530' away from the wellhead and achieve 35' of head above my building pad (40' of head from wellhead) but then I would have to run the water back to my building pad which would mean another 350' of pipe to run. I like the idea of having gravity fed water in case I lose power for some reason, but that's only going to net me 15psi before friction losses are accounted for. I am going to need a pump to boost line pressure and am open to suggestions of what to use and where to place it. I want to have good pressure for irrigation a static pressure of 100psi would be nice.
So that is what I have going on what would you do if it was your system?
Looking for advice on pipe size, tank locations, booster type and location.
Planning on using 1 1/4 sch 120 for the drop pipe. Power run to well pump will be about 420' from panel to pump, would you use 10/3 or is 12/3 sufficient?
