Had a dealer quote a WS-1 based system for $1600 for 48000 grain

Weekends do heavy laundry

a 7000sxt based is $722 (with Turbolater and 10% crosslink resin)
a 9100 sxt is $1200 (with Turbolater and 10% crosslink resin)

Have 1" PEX line at home.

Which one to go? Alsois sst60 resin worth it?

Are you on city water or well water? Unless you have high iron in your water you don't need a turbulator nor sst60 resin. Clack is a more user friendly valve for the DIY'er.

Technically no. That does not mean you cant find the parts, but it will be a lot more work than finding some Fleck parts.

Regardless, the Fleck and Clack valves usually only need to be rebuilt every 10-20 years. And both are very easy and fairly inexpensive to rebuild.

They can do what you were stopped from doing?

When Clack said no internet dealers were allowed to sell parts, they backtracked that within a couple hours saying they would allow it but only to the dealer's customer. I hear some local dealers are selling parts to DIYers, and a few are selling softeners too.

If you need parts just get them from a Sears Service Center.

You just have to pay the 100% normal markup.
