Chugging noise with sprinklers running:
I’m getting some chugging despite having the water meter replaced and the sprinklers all checked out. Happens with high water appliances such as running a bath or irrigation like in the video. Not sure if this is considered water hammer or not, but feels like a decent amount of vibration coming through the pipes.

Is this worth getting a plumber out or is it not a problem? I suspect it has to do with the diameter change in the pipes?

Thanks in advance!

I was thinking it could be the PRV . maybe pop the meter out and throw a jumper in there see if noise stops . heck if you arent that mechanical , why not call water district tell them what is going on they would swap my meter free here .

That’s actually exactly what I did. It improved some with the new meter, but still pretty significant. Would you call a plumber with it this way or just not worry about it? I could try strapping them down to reduce the vibration perhaps?

What did water company tell you? Are you sure its the meter? Our meters are outside in the ground and noise wouldnt bother anyone. If I wasent a plumber I wouldnt call one , I still wonder if it could be the PRV .

They said it was likely the meter and swapped it for this newer one, but left before I could test it.

It could be the PRV perhaps. Is that pressure reducing valve? Basically below the meter?

I could try swapping that perhaps.
