Turning while gluing PVC fittings

Hi everyone. Been busy, who isn't right. Besides I have to get my daily dose of propaganda if you are picking up what I am putting down...

I wonder if there is anything in particular a professional plumber might do when he is gluing PVC fittings he can not rotate when installing. I am commonly installing short pieces of pipe, some of which I can not turn at all.

The main reason to turn the fitting while inserting it in the fitting is to help ensure more even coverage of the cement. If you're in the situation where that's not possible, being extra careful to get a thorough, even coating of the cement all around is probably the best you can do.

Thanks for the replies. Always learning...

I normally primer both parts, then glue both, then work it in and out a bit and hold for 2 min or so. It normally melts together nice and makes a strong connection.

I am no pro just a procrastinator.
