Went to pick up 3 Toto ultramax ii from my wholesaler today and the wife saw the Toto Aimes on the showroom floor.

I see that Toto also make at toilet called the Legato which looks identical to the Aimes.

I looked everywhere and even at the specs from Toto and they are identical for both toilets.

The only difference that I have found is the trip/flush lever.

Can anyone confirm that this is the only difference for me as well as provide me your opinions on either of these toilets if you have one or have installed one or two.

Thanks

Well, I found my answer. However, I would still like your opinions on the Aimes/Legato vs ultramax ii vs soiree vs drake ii. Thanks

Several of the toilets are part of a family of bathroom stuff. https://www.totousa.com/products/accessories So the levers would be keyed to the style of the family.

Ultramax and Drake are not skirted. They are cheaper. They do not use Unifit.

So, is there an advantage to a toilet that uses a unifit connection vs a toilet that does not?

There is an advantage if you want a different rough in distance. For me, it was really nice, and I would do it again.

They are associated with skirted toilets that may be a preferred appearance item.

The function is not better compared with a top notch non-Unifit such as the Drakes. In fact (and this is disputed by some), there is a little bit more noise transmission with the Unifit vs regular toilet. Not a big difference, and I got used to it pretty soon. My first observation was letting bath water out and hearing flow from the toilet. The old toilet did not pass the sound of the passing water. If I had been listening to music, I would have heard nothing.

One nice thing about the Unifit toilets is ease of removal and reinstallation. If you ever need to pull the toilet (say, to paint or paper behind it), it's a snap. No messy wax ring to replace.

Not a big advantage, probably, but thought I'd throw that out there.

Good point.

And now that you mention it, it is easy to position the angle and pretty much self-aligns when you drop the toilet in once the Unifit is in place.
