While cleaning around the drain of my bathroom sink I dropped the old toothbrush I was using. It went down the drain and lodged in the drain because it couldn't turn the corner. I can't reach it with anything! I don't want to tell my hubby because 1) I'll never hear the end of it and 2) he will tear the plumbing apart and not be able to put it back together. Before I bring in the expensive plumber any suggestions of what I could do or use to get it out?

The trap may come apart under the lavatory and go back together very easily.

Post a photo of the area in the cabinet under the lavatory if in doubt.

You may be able to lasso it with string or wire.
Or like mentioned above, if the trap has slip joint nuts, you can loosen, drop the bottom of the trap off and reassemble.

I bought a spring retriever with claws from Amazon and they sold 2 for $5.00 free shipping so I bought 10 of them

I figured use once and throw away but they are amazing for removing hair, an earring, a toothpaste cap and a kids toy

first time I used it more then paid for all of them
