Hi, my Delta shower has been leaking. I finally had enough and decided to replace the springs and the seats. I watched numerous YouTube videos, got the parts, and had all my tools ready, but... I can't even get the handle off, because there is serious gunk buildup (please see attached picture) in the hole where the screw sits, and my Allen wrench can't seem to latch on the set screw.

Any suggestion on getting the screw off in this situation? Thanks!

Maybe hit it with spray oil or vinegar to clean that up and expose the Allen. Might be a lot of soap deposits.
Worst case scenario, drill out the Allen screw, and pick up a new shower trim to reinstall.
