Hello,
I'm new to your site and I've read through many of the older threads and cannot find the exact answer to my question, so I'm starting this thread.
Like many have posted here, my 25 year old Red Jacket pump is starting to slowly fail and I'm not going to replace until it gives up, but I'm getting all new components lined up so down time will be minimal. Since the same Red Jacket is no longer being made, I am looking at a Grundfos: 10SQ10-290, but would like to run my well log specs past you professionals to verify if this is the proper Grundfos pump.

Well Log info:
212' deep
160' of 6" casing
static level 150'
pump set @ 200'
test rate: 12 gpm with bail for 1.5 hrs with 35' of drawdown
sustainable yield at 12 gpm
black coil pipe is 1" 160psi
8 gpm Dole valve @ pitless adapter

Additional info:
60' of 1' pipe running level horizontally to 30 gallon pressure tank in basement
Pressure tank has been set at 48-70 psi for 25 years, but recently backed off to 40-60 and reset air in PT to 38 psi

I've looked at several online ways to determine TDH vs PSI, and it's confusing at best, since this is not my line of profession.

Any assistance in providing the proper Grundfos SQ pump size for my application, would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
jangle

You will start out lifting from 150' and 200' would be worst case. Add 115' for the 50 PSI you need at the house and 315' would be the total head needed. The SQ290 will deliver about 10 GPM from at that head. No need for a Dole valve. That pump makes plenty of pressure, so you can turn it back up to 50/70 if you like pressure. A 30 gallon pressure tank only holds 8 gallons of water. That is not a large enough tank unless you add a Cycle Stop Valve, then it is much larger than needed.

Add a flow inducer. Search for that term.
