Hello,

I recently tore out this hot mopped laundry closet that had a built in floor drain on my 2nd story. I plan on doing some waterpoofing then installing the same LVP inside that I'll be using throughout the rest of the upstairs. I want to use a washer pan to catch any machine leaks and have it attached to the floor drain that is already there.

I was hoping to get some advice on the best way to do this so I don't have any leaks. Any recommendations on what parts I need to buy and the process of install would be great. I was thinking of cutting off this flange so it's flush with the floor and going from there. I know I probably need to account for some spacing due to the stackup of the LVP and the washer pan. I don't have too much plumbing experience but I feel I'm very much capable of learning and doing a good job with this.
