Hello,

I was cleaning the toilet and a non-flushable heavy duty scrubbing bubbles pad came off. It is no where to be found for some reason! I stuck my hand in there and can not find it. What should I do?

Thanks.

You are probably OK. Maybe keep a plunger handy for a few days, just in case.

Here is a picture of it. It is a scrubby pad material, not degradable, 1-1/2" wide and 3" long. Depth is 1-3/4" including the piece of plastic on the back (1-1/4" x 1" ).

I can't imagine how it managed to disappear down the hole rather than rest on the bottom.

The water is low in the bowl for some reason. Plunging did not raise the object out. Is it best to not try flushing the toilet? I am concerned if it gets past the toilet trap and into the sewer that it will cause a clog in the pipes if it catches on something. This is not something that will ever disintegrate in water. Would a plumber recommend removing the toilet to dislodge it or to let it go down the drain?

There are two ways to deal with object stuck in a toilet trap. One. Use a toilet auger. This is the simplest way because you don't have to remove the toilet, but it doesn't always work. Sometimes the auger won't grab the culprit. Then number two. Remove the toilet, take it outside and go from the bottom. Plumbers deal with this frequently. All kinds of things from children's toys to makeup kits, to toothbrushes to whatever else could have found its way into the toilet. Augers can be purchased in most any hardware store.

That's a pretty big object.
You may need to pull the bowl and push it back out from the bottom side with an auger. Now that I see that, I can envision others having a problem too.
