Norris NI toilet repair options.

I’m visiting my parents and they complained about their toilet not refilling properly, making strange noises among other things. I said it’s probably a good idea to replace the filler mechanism. I’ve never seen a Norris toilet and the existing filler has a tube that runs horizontally that I’m not familiar with. Is there a “universal” replacement that will work for this toilet or am I better off leaving it alone? I’ll try to post a few photos. Thanks in advance.

You may have to reuse the old ball and rod, because the compact ball and rod in your toilet aren't widely-available.

Thanks Terry. Too bad about reusing the ball and rod-I was hoping to replace those. I’m sure I can make it better than it is now by changing the fill valve. Thanks
