No drain near water softener

I am trying to install a water softer in the garage next to the main water shutoff. There is only a clean out plug on one of the walls. I wonder whether I can extend the clean out plug with a wye, and then add another wye to connect to a vent and a p-trap. The following diagram illustrates the design:

Does the design meet the code requirements?
