I want to install a new utility sink in my basement. The location of the sink is going to be right next to where the 4” sewer main goes through the basement wall. My plan is to cutoff the clean out and extend the 4” to add a drain. If I do that, can I drain into the side of the extended 4” like A in the picture or do I need to go into the top of the pipe like B?
