I have a 30 ft old well that I am going to add a pump in order to water my cows. I am unsure of the casing material and if I can drill through to add a pitless adapter.

What are my options.

Thanks
Bradley

That pipe could be made from a number of different materials

It is not steel or any other kind if metal pipe.

it appears to be concrete or clay tile pipe to me. Concrete pipe was a very common irrigation pipe before the advent of PVC. It does not look like asbestos-cement pipe to me.

What is the inside And outside diameter of the pipe?

You would drill a oversized hole thru the pipe with a Hammer or core drill. Insert your water pipe and then patch it with jetset cement.

A magnet does not attract to it. Inside diameter is 6 inches and outside diameter is 7 inches i believe.
