I'm replacing my norwall toilet with a new gerber maxwell toilet I have no guidance though into what exact neoprene or rubber gasket I need. When I picked a zurn one it seemed too large for my toilet. I ordered a rubber sponge one. I just do not know how exactly it fits between the 4 inch discharge pipe and the toilet. Does the neoprene gasket sit inside it or push into the drain pip to make the seal? I also saw a flexible rubber seal that you can push into the 4 inch drain. Lots of options and very little information. I'm often told juat a neoprene gasket but I need more info than that. Thanks in advance!

This is the gasket that seems most often recommended:
Instructions are on the box.

I have not found any other neoprene drain gaskets on the market now, but there are a few reinforced wax rings supposedly recommended by some plumbers for wall hung units (although not by toilet makers from what I see).

Typical sponge rubber may be too 'open-cell' so they collect water & leak.

The outlet on the gerber Maxwell is a bit smaller than many wall hung toilets but the neoprene gasket should work.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
