Delta Shower Cartridge Help

Hi guys, any idea what shower cartridge I need for this Delta valve? I don’t know the model and the only thing on it is a patent number. It’s a shower only, no tub. I’d rather not take it apart until I have the cartridge to replace. Are you able to tell just by the picture? Thanks!

Very dumb question, but do I need to turn the water off before removing the handle?

You can remove the handle with the water on.

Hey there, I took off the handle, any idea which cartridge I need now? Not sure of the year but I know it’s prior to 2010 and most likely not before 2000.
