Hi all,

First time post here but this forum has been of great help in my remodel. Have a drain pipe in my basement where I could use some advice on how to replace. Instead of trying to describe the drain I've just attached a picture. My initial thought was to remove all the copper and go into the cast iron with PVC but not sure the best way to remove the copper, or how to attach the PVC when I do.

Thanks for any and all help, even if you tell me to call a plumber.:)

Fernco is one brand that makes a seal for cast iron hub x plastic.
Drill out the lead, pry what is left, remove the rope below and drop one of these down. I taper the plastic and put some liquid soap on it, and then tap it in. A 2x4 is good to put over the pipe that you can hammer on.
