While digging, I found an old clay pipe under the basement slab that is bringing in some water.
It was a downspout now disconnected.
It's about 6 feet long, probably broken somewhere along the path, and collecting water from the surrounding soil.

What's the best way to fill/cap it?
I was thinking to cap the basement side and pour concrete from outside. My doubt is that the concrete will shrink while drying, and it will not solve the problem.

suggestions?

Fernco and others make caps for clay pipes. Find one that will fit your pipe.
