It's been over a year since I ran into trouble with ALL of the replacement shower arms available in stores. They all had improperly cut pipe threads--looked like external rifling rather than a proper taper cut. They didn't seal at all. I kept watching for 6 months or so, but it was all the same Chinese made crap that should have gone right to the scrap metal heap.

Well, I looked again a month or so ago and they actually had what appeared to be properly cut threads. Haven't tried one yet, might get around to it later. Just wanted to give a heads up to DYI'ers that the issue might be resolved.
