My wife and I just got a house and we were told it was missing a shower arm. I got one and a new shower head but I can’t get the arm in because the thread is bad and it seems too tight as well. Any advice on how to fix this? I can access the pipes which helps but I’m not sure if I can even get the pipe off. Not fun when you can’t shower!

You have a standard 1/2" drop ear 90 there for the shower arm.
Normally you can wrap tape three times around the end and thread it in. I like to have the shower head on while I spin it in because it gives me leverage without using pliers on it. You can also use a screwdriver in the end for leverage.

It may be that the old shower arm is broken off inside. If that's the case, you need an easy out to remove it.

Thank you! I guess I’ll have to replace the piece or get someone in. It’s damaged with no thread. Can’t get it to go in no matter what I try
