Can you "refinish" scratches on a white porcelain toilet bowl?

It is a Kohler toilet. I screwed up when I went to snake it and scratched it in the bottom area where the water return is.

True scratches nothing, but, first evacuate all the water and try scouring powder like Ajax

Thank you. I'm hoping that might do the trick. Good thought.

Now, I just need to figure out how to solve the backup. My inlaws' shower and toiled are connected so that when we plunged the toiled, water went into the shower. I've tried a snake and auger from both spots. Both get caught I think it is on one of the bends in the pipe, not an actual obstacle.
