I am wondering if I can add a sink drain to an existing drain and vent for my washing machine. Currently the washer drains into a 2" drain at a tee with a 1-1/2" vent to roof. In a past article -need advice on adding existing DWV layout in basement-, Terry states "You can't wet vent a laundry tub over the washer" Can I add a 1-1/2" laundry tub below the 2' washer drain? The tub is 4-1/2' from the drain/ vent pipe. Thanks for any help.

As long as both are vented you can do most anything.
A 1.5" trap arm can be 42" long. A 2" trap arm can be 60" to the vent.
You will need to vent each one and then tie the vents together at 42".
That or use a double fixture fitting for the two items.
