Thanks Terry. That is the route I plan on taking. I'm checking to see if I can get a box in there- moving the frig to fix again tonight.

Long run for refrigerator water line (questions) & where, how many shutoffs?

Current refrigerator water line is saddle valve to flexible copper that is probably bent more than it should be and I just don't trust it, so I'd like to replace it. Because of where it comes off the supply, it runs at least 50 feet (guess) across an accessible basement ceiling. I haven't found...

Shower Handle turns, and I hear water but nothing comes out of the shower

I’m wondering if it’s more than a clogged line. Tried cartridge in, cartridge out and got full flow on the cold side, nothing on the hot side. I checked the internal shutoff and it seems as if it’s a quarter turn on/off and that’s it. Both shutoffs do turn but nothing on hot side. This all...

Shower Handle turns, and I hear water but nothing comes out of the shower

Thanks. It’s a Posi Temp if that helps determine which type of shutoff. mill play with it again tonight.

Shower Handle turns, and I hear water but nothing comes out of the shower

Victory! Somewhat. Pulled the cartridge out and get a decent flow out the valve. Played with the internal shut offs so I believe they are open all the way and I got the flow up to what I believe is full blast. With cartridge and handle back on I got only a slight flow out of the showerhead...

Shower Handle turns, and I hear water but nothing comes out of the shower

I have a stall shower (no tub faucet) in an area of my house that doesn't get much use. The shower has its own shutoff valves due to no heat in the winter (converted garage bathroom, I'm in New Jersey). Recently when I tried turning the shower on, I heard the water in the pipes, but nothing...

    Can’t remove ABS/PVC shower drain

I’ve had a slight leak below my shower drain and I’m in the process of redoing the caulking. I checked the drain and there is a chip in the edge of the flange and inside I can in the area where the gaskets are I can see the gasket has shifted. I tried the tool from the new drain but it won’t...

To insulate, or use shut off valve?

I am in the Northeast and have a garage converted into an apartment that I use occasionally as an office. There's no HVAC, just electric baseboards. There's a full bath. Recently I had a pipe burst and shoot water through a few walls. This was quickly fixed. As I removed the drywall, I followed...

Can 2 lights (same circuit), 2 switched, be converted into one switch?

It's this model timer. http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/in-wall%20timers/st01c.aspx I've also attached the installation portion of the instructions.

Can 2 lights (same circuit), 2 switched, be converted into one switch?

Thanks for the responses. Here's my plan in my layman's terms. In the wall are 2 switches, each attached to 2 black wires and a ground. The timer does not require a neutral, although it has a red wire for use in 3 way setups. My plan is to attach one black wire from each switch to one black wire...

Can 2 lights (same circuit), 2 switched, be converted into one switch?

I have a 3 switch plate on my wall. One switch is for an indoor light switch ( 3 wire, as there are 2 on the same line). The other 2 switches are two separate outdoor light fixtures. I would like to install an in-wall timer that controls both outdoor light sets at the same time. Is this possible?

    Water temp varies throughout house

Brand new house, so lots of new tech I'm unfamiliar with. Water temp is fine on all sinks. On both showers, though, the hot is not really hot and it gets cold quickly. Water heater is set at a normal temperature. I've heard of anti-scald shower valves but don't know much about them. I believe...

    water level in toilet

similar problem, low level in bowl new house, 2 brand new toilets, exactly the same. I believe they're Kohler. Both have fairly low water levels in the bowl. One is noticeably lower than the other. It has to be cleaned manually with nearly every use. Can someone recommend a quick way to adjust...

low pressure- hot and cold faucet…

Wow, very simple but that worked. I unscrewed the aerator by hand and the flow restrictor fell out. I screwed the aerator back on without the restrictor and water flowed freely. Ideally I probably should put the restrictor back in. Any idea how it should sit? Probably kinda difficult to picture...

low pressure- hot and cold faucet…

Thanks again. I haven't had to shut house water off or do anything since I installed the new faucet, which makes the pressure thing strange. I will try removing the screen and cleaning. It would be great if that's all it is. Could be too good to be true…

low pressure- hot and cold faucet…

Thanks. The faucet is a Peerless P99675 two-handled (see attached picture). Is it as simple as removing the screen on the end? (where the water comes out?) The faucet is just over a month old so I wonder why there is a problem.

low pressure- hot and cold faucet…

Thanks for the quick reply. How can I check if the flow restrictor or screen is blocked? Is this in the individual supply lines??

low pressure- hot and cold faucet…

A month or so ago I had a faucet with a nasty leak (or two). I couldn't find parts, so I replaced the whole thing. It worked out fine for quite a while. No leaks, good pressure. Suddenly a few days ago, the pressure dropped by almost half on both the hot and cold sides. I have a 2-handled...

Leaky faucet; handles won't come off

My bathroom faucet is probably at least 30 years old, compression type. My best guess is that it's a Price Pfister. It's the type with the long white porcelain handles. Right now there's a drip from the spout. This morning it was occasionally leaking underneath on the cold water side. The main...
