How do you get a water well tested for oil?

I've had issues with my water treatment system in past and when I was asked the local people who test my water the only thing they test for is bacteria.

I want to know what kind of test would you get to test for oil and other things. I'm mainly concerned of oil.

Oil usually leaves a rainbow colored sheen floating on the water. There are labs than can test for any chemical you ask for. In Lubbock I used Trace Elements. I am sure there are some in your area as well.
