1960’s Bathtub

Hey quick question.. I just removed the old tile from around my tub from the 60’s. One end of the tub is about 1” from the studs. How should I remedy this issue? The other end of the tub is nearly flush with the studs.

With that large of a gap, I would consider furring out the wall. Backer board is 1/2" and tile is less than that.

if you aren't floating the walls you got a problem other wise fur valve side or move tub and fur the other side
