Hello guys, here are the well specs

640ft deep
Water level 200ft below ground.
Refresh rate of well 150gpm+

I am looking to put a new pump in the well and possibly replace the pipes. Going with 2HP 13GS pump and 1.25" pipe.

Question is should I use PVC or steel? It currently has steel. Is it ok to use plastic pipe for such a deep well?

Also, any ideas where I can buy the pipe and how much these pipes cost these days?

Thank you!

With 150 GPM recharge the pumping level may not be much or any different than the static level. It makes a difference in which pump and which pipe you can use if the pump is set at 300' or 600'?

It doesn't matter if the pump is set at 500', it will still only be lifting from the water level of 200'. Using a pump designed to work at 500' with only 200' of head will cause upthrust damage. If you know the well level will never drop below 200', installing a pump made for that head and set at about 300' would be best. You can always purchase a larger pump and set it deeper if something drastic happens in years to come.

Hi guys, anybody knows if it’s better to remove a huge old tank for the water wells if not using it? Is in the house in its own room by the garage. Can we cover it with wooded floor ?
