Unfamiliar with this sewer pump

Can someone tell me how this pump works, whats submerged. Its not pumping out, motar runs

The motor turns a shaft that in turn rotates the impeller. There is either a mechanical problem with the impeller or something is clogged.

hj is wrong. the key-way is sheared, you'll have to pull the motor and replace the key-way.

Update, there was a pin that held the impeller on, was broken off.
