Hello, got some 60 year old cast iron / lead jointed pipe under a concrete foundation.
Doing a residential bath / toilet drain switcharoo in Southern California
Couple questions:
- The code mentions no hub connectors can go on "fittings". Is it correct to no-hub on a 90 degree cast iron? Or should a no hub always be placed on a straight pipe?
- If the cast iron is growing little hard nodules on the bottom (calcification? decay?), should these be grinded off before putting on the nohub?
Some photos of the project:

Any advice appreciated
