TOTO Ultramax flush handle sticking open

The flush handle sticks open when the toilet is flushed and continues to fill the tank until the handle is physically pulled up.

I replaced the flapper and that solved the problem temporarily. I don’t recall if thr replacement flapper is the one regularly recommended here or a Toto. I got it at Home Depit and it’s a red/pink color. After a few months it is doing the same thing. The toilet is probably 13 years old.

Any suggestions?
