I purchased a new home and discovered that the prior owner did a quick fix to the cold water shower handle. They welded the screw for the cold water handle to the stem and it cannot be removed. I was looking for a temporary fix since I have other home repair costs that take priority. Is there a screwless shower handle available that affixes tightly to the adapter or stem since I cannot remove the screw?

A small locking pliers would function.

Many "universal" shower knobs have an adapter that attaches from the side with set screws. You might have to cut off the welded screw.

If you think this would not work for you, how about a photo of what you are connecting to.
