House built in '83- Williams Lyon in Phoenix area. We purchased in 2019. There have been some DIY upgrades throughout its life as a rental prior to our purchase. Price Pfister brand shower handle (shower only, push/pull) became wobbly and hard to turn. It was very hard ro remove the trim cap and we did some damage to the finish removing it. Once off, it looks like a moen standard valve? My guess is, they replaced the trim with a Pfister universal kit. Problem is, I can't tell if the valve is a Moen 1200 or 1225, and I really can't find ANYTHING decent in wild rubbed bronze to replace it. Maybe a moentrol adapter? Will anything else fit without changing out the entire valve body type? Any help is greatly appreciated.

1200 and 1225 is the cartridge, it doesn't matter which one you have as any Moen Standard/Chateau or MoenTrol with adapter will fit. The only MoenTrol trim available in ORB is Voss or Kingsley. You could use a Danco aftermarket trim for much cheaper, sometimes you may get what you pay for though.
