I have an old 8" exploratory well on my place that is 950-1000' deep. Water appears to be clean with no hydro-carbon odors. Static water level is around 20'. For an irrigation type well, what kind of pump setup would be common?
I don't have permanent power there and I'm thinking a portable 10k generator would work.
Thanks

What GPM do you expect will be required for irrigation?

Is your 10KW generator capable of delivering 240 volts or only 120?

I would get a cheap pump like one of these. https://www.ebay.com/p/2152858266

The 2HP will still pump 15 GPM from 340' deep. I would set it about 350' and test the well. Running a 1/4 poly air line down with the wire will let you measure the actual water level while testing. Once you determine the pumping level and amount you can pick a pump and depth of setting as needed.
