Greetings....

I am replacing a 3 piece shower system with similar. I have access from behind to the area for the valve and where pex supply lines will be coming in. Those will be easy connections. How would I attach the new valve to the current shower head supply pipe (galvanized) when I do not have access to the top of the run nor room to rotate to fasten? Thanks to all who chime in!

To connect your new valve to the old galvanized pipe, use a union fitting. Cut and thread the pipe if needed, then attach the union to the pipe and the valve. You can also use push-to-connect fittings like SharkBite if switching to PEX. For the shower head, use a drop-ear elbow to make the connection. Make sure to check for leaks after everything is connected and use Teflon tape on threaded parts to prevent leaks.
